American English in Mind is a multi-level course aimed at teenage learners of American English. The Level 1 Student’s Book includes 16 units that cover reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills. Thought-provoking topics motivate students, while content-rich photostories and dialogues present contemporary spoken American English in realistic contexts. ‘Culture in mind’ sections provide insights into various aspects of English-speaking life, and ‘Check your progress’ sections help students monitor their learning. The accompanying DVD-ROM features stimulating grammar exercises, games, videos, unit tests, Workbook audio, and selected Student’s Book audio. The videos include ‘Videoke,’ allowing students to record and hear their voices in portions of the video dialogues.
