هذا الكتاب هو في الأصل رسالةٌ لنيل دبلوم الدراسات العُليا المعمّقة ضمن وحدة البلاغة الجديدة والنقد الأدبي، في كلية الآداب والعلوم الإنسانية التابعة لجامعة محمد الخامس بالرباط، تحت إشراف د. محمد العمري ود. محمد معتصم. نقدّم فيه نظرية الحِجاج عند شاييم بيرلمان (Chaïm Perelaman). وقد اعتمدنا في ذلك على كتابه إمبراطورية الخطابية (L’empire rhètorique) الذي بسط فيه المفاصل الكُبرى لهذه النظرية دون الإمعان في النقاشات والتفاصيل التي تشكّل الخلفية الفلسفية لها.
